Candidate councillor: Brandon de Kock

Brandon de Kock is an educator by profession. He teaches mathematics at Heathfield High, Cape Town. He is married to Vanessa de Kock, with twin boys, Wade and Luke aged 13 years old.
He was born in Lansdowne 27 June 1969. His family was forced to move from that area because of the Group Areas Act. They then moved to Wynberg where he attended St Anthony’s RC Primary school and thereafter to Diep River in 1976.
He attended Livingstone High, Claremont in 1983, where his political education began. He excelled in sport and academics and made the Western Province chess team for three consecutive years and the SASSSA team in 1986. He was part of the SRC at Livingstone and was at the forefront of the 1985 boycotts. He also excelled in football and cricket and achieved numerous awards in these disciplines.
He worked at Sanlam before starting out at Heathfield High. He left Sanlam because of the injustices and blatant racism he experienced, he supported his father when he was on the Elfindale Civic as a committee member.
Brandon is the chairman of the Heathfield High Special Action committee in the fight for injustices and the blatant victimization of their principal, Mr Wesley Neumann. The disciplinary hearing of Mr Neumann highlighted what is wrong in the education system and socially.

We aim to restore dignity to the citizens of Cape Town with the proper services they deserve. Corruption, theft, looting, state capture is a big NO NO which we as a movement firmly believe in.
