David Jantjies born in 1952, grew up in George and attended George High School. He left school in 1970 and moved to Cape Town in 1977 to start making a living for himself. David enjoyed playing rugby for a local club in Bellville but had to stop in 1984 due to an injury.
David’s other sport interest is darts and he eventually joined a club in George, which resulted in him moving back to George for seven years. David relocated back to Cape Town in 1993.
David has also worked as a meter taxi driver for a company called Sea Point Radio Taxis before he became an owner driver. In 2016 the late Mr Strauss and David registered a political party called The Independent Sports Party and represented the metro in Cape Town.
They were not as successful as they hoped but were still optimistic to take the party forward. David kept the dream alive and active by ensuring he adhered to the IEC requirements. A chance call and subsequent visit from Advocate Rod Solomons of the Credible Alternative 1st Movement, realized his hope to participate in the upcoming local government elections and to possibly make a difference in the lives of his community.
His life has revolved around sport, and he is very passionate to make it work in the community where he lives in Delft. His objective is to uplift the children through sport and try and help take them off the streets. Through the children David believes that we will make a positive impact for the parents to consider voting for CA1st.
“Thanks for the opportunity I get to make a better life for those who can’t help themselves” David Jantjies
