Ernest Payne born in Cape Town, spent his first 5 years growing up in Kirstenbosch, until his family was forcefully moved to Heideveld. There he spent most of his years at his family home until he moved out and started working. Ernie, as he is known to his friends, started his working life in sales for a company supplying medical and scientific laboratory equipment to the food and beverage industries as well as universities. 

In 1984 he made a change to join one of the oldest company’s operating in the above-mentioned sector and this is where his career really started. Two years later, in 1986, he was appointed the branch manager looking after the Western, Southern and Eastern Cape. A journey that would last 37 years. There he gained a wealth of experience and learning. Ernie retired in March 2021 and continues to have ties with the company.

 Ernie is a strong family man with two wonderful children, Rene and Grant. An avid golfer and his love of music has resulted that ‘DJ ‘is added in front of his name on many occasions.
