Zelda Ann Hintsa who resides in Athlone, attended St Raphael’s Primary School and Oakland’s High school in Lansdowne. She completed her higher certificate in Education Training and Development in Adult Learning in 2000 and in 2001 a Higher Diploma in Education Training and Development in Adult Education. In 2005 Zelda completed the National Certificate in Community Development through recognition of prior learning at KwaZulu Natal University in 2008. In 2018 she qualified as a Life Coach. 

 Zelda has been a Community Development Worker for the past fifteen years where she assists communities with service delivery issues and advises organisations on strategic matters to strengthen their organisations. She has municipal experience and serves as a community resource person between the community and the municipality on issues of concern.  Zelda’s passion is Community Development and assisting people to become self-sustainable.

She served as a Reservist at the Athlone Police station for 16 years and serves as the PRO on the Athlone Community Police Forum – CPF. For years she volunteered as a trauma councillor at the Athlone Police station trauma room and volunteered at Rape Crisis as a Training Public Awareness – TPA volunteer. Later she became part of their trauma councillors. 

For five years she worked at Workers World Media Production as an administration clerk, and thereafter was the event co-ordinator at the Labour Research Service (LRS). For many years she hosted labour related issues on Bush Radio 

She served as the youth chairperson at the Athlone Football association and is part of the Cape Flats Interfaith Dialogue. Zelda is one of the founding members that established the Athlone-Crawford Ratepayers association.

As secretary of the Bridgetown Theatre Company (BTC), she assisted with the casting for the Hit SABC series Melody, wherein, as a part-time drama actress, played the magistrate in the series. Zelda loves jazz and R&B music and is also an environmentalist addressing issues such as climate change.
