Today, as I was getting ready to cast my ballot at Pinehurst Primary School in Pinelands, I felt as exhilarated as I felt when I voted in 1994, for the ANC led by Nelson Mandela.
I have given this race my all because I fervently and deeply believe that Capetonians deserve better. I tried to run a different campaign and focus on the issues being faced by our people. I did not want the same old approach to service delivery.
People who are ready for change, should take the step needed to vote for a party that they can put their faith in, instead of investing in parties that have not truly served them. If we are voted into office, we are ready to show people that we are here to serve. We will show people that we are truly a credible alternative.
My appeal to voters: Please apply your mind and exercise your hard-fought right to vote.
THANK YOU, ENKOSI, DANKIE to all of you who will have the courage to lend us your vote for the next 5 years. Should we get a seat or two, WE, in fact, I will not disappoint you.
This is a monumental occasion for CA1st as this is our first election. Regardless of the outcome in this local government election, we will continue to forge ahead with our agenda and we will continue to enthuse ordinary people to stand up for their human rights and to demand their dignity and equitable services.
CA1st is ready to usher in a new era of credibility and accountability in the City of Cape Town.

A heartfelt note to my friends and acquaintances in the ANC. (my erstwhile comrades)
I understand how hard it must be to consider no longer voting for the ANC, considering your history with it. You and I however, know that the ANC of yesteryear is no longer there, for the last few years and will probably never reappear. Its current crop of leaders and that of the recent past has proven themselves over & over to be unable to renew this organisation and WILL continually fail you. (THIS MY FRIEND IS AN UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTH THAT YOU MUST WRESTLE WITH AND FINALLY ACCEPT).
This story of you cannot leave the house whilst it is leaking, sheets are loose, paint falling off, foundations crumbling, is plain nonsense. Leave the house, let it crumble and go build another one or buy a new one. Otherwise that crumbling will fall over you and be the death of you and maybe your family. (They are disgustingly playing with your emotions).
Over the years, you and many of us have been shocked, disappointed, disgusted and disgruntled when we heard, found out, or saw the shenanigans of some in the leadership. Time after time there have been promises of renewal BUT there are zilch consequences and the train just chug along.
I am frankly shocked how u and others, time after time, when it comes to crunch-time during elections pull back and go back, knowing you will lament till the next election and give your hard-fought & precious vote to those charlatans & palookas.
My days of lamenting are thankfully over because I took the difficult step of getting rid of that NEGATIVE ENERGY.
I am crystal clear…. I am leading a group of people who are offering the people of Cape Town a CREDIBLE ALTERNATIVE. The time for establishment parties, including the ANC & DA are over & people DESERVE better. So yes I say loudly and clearly #VoteCA1st…..
I feel more at peace with myself AND I feel lighter and more content, after having taken this step. Just try it and tell me how you feel thereafter.
Dienslewering in Kaapstad: Fokus op water en elektrisiteit
CA1st verstaan dat die stad inkomste moet kry om te kan voortbestaan. Ons is ook bewus van die koste van basiese dienste, soos water en elektrisiteit en die verwydering van rioolvuil wat duurder word. Dit het min invloed op die hoër middelklas en die rykes, maar dit het ‘n beduidende impak op die armes en werkloses en die groeiende laer middelklas in Kaapstad.
Die koste van hierdie dienste toon hoe die stad inkomste kry en waaraan die geld bestee word. As gevolg hiervan, wil die CA1st ‘n volledige ontleding van die stad se begroting doen en prioriteite verskuif om ongelykheid te beëindig en voorspoed in die toekoms te bring, in plaas van net die begroting in balans te bring.
“Water en elektrisiteit is basiese menseregte. As ons verkies word, verminder ons die toeslag op water en elektrisiteit onmiddellik met 50% en sal ons dit oorweeg om die toeslag heeltemal te kanselleer. “Mense moenie die moeilike besluit neem tussen die betaling van water en elektrisiteit, en die koop van kos nie” sê adv. Die Credible Alternative First Movement het ontstaan uit ‘n burgerlike organisasie wat bekend is as SA First Forum. Ons het korrupsie, ongelykheid en magsmisbruik op alle regeringsvlakke teen gestaan. Ons het gewone mense aangemoedig om hul stemme teen onreg deur die gesag te verhef. As ‘n burgerlike organisasie wat die politieke arena betree,bied ons Kapenaars ‘n eerlike, realistiese en geloofwaardige benadering tot die munisipale administrasie.
In ons manifes, bied ons die mense van Kaapstad die geleentheid om hul waardigheid te herstel en die soort dienste wat hulle verdien, te verskaf. Die Credible Alternative First Movement, wil wys dat ‘n mens ‘n amptenaar kan wees om gemeenskappe te bedien sonder ruimte vir korrupsie, selfverryking of vooroordeel. Ons doen ‘n beroep op die mense van Kaapstad om ons manifes te lees. Ons manifes en ons verskillende beleidsaanbiedinge wat hieraan verbind is, wys vir Kapenaars wat ons bedoel met ‘n ‘geloofwaardige alternatief’ en strewe daarna om ‘n ‘Humane, Caring; Can-Do Cape Town”.
